Q. Is The Original Safety Siphon made in the U.S.A.?
A. Yes. The Original Safety Siphon is headquartered in Greensburg, PA. Our check valves are manufactured in Western, Pennsylvania. Our fulfillment center and shipping warehouse is located in Western, Pennsylvania as well.
Q. I see other siphons at other retail stores that look similar to yours. Are they the same?
A. No. Simply put, if it doesn't say “Safety Siphon Made in U.S.A.” on the check valve, it is a “knockoff.”
Q. What are the differences between The Original Safety Siphon and the “knockoffs”?
A. There are multiple differences:
- We use copper, an industrial strength glass ball, and stainless steel spring.
- Our hoses consist of virgin grade resin, no fillers, and are FDA food grade safe. As mentioned, if it doesn't say, “Safety Siphon Made in U.S.A.” on the check valve, it is a “knockoff.” Companies who sell the “knockoff” siphons usually include cheap foreign materials to keep the cost down. A common trick is for these companies to include a basic hose that should not be used for fuel. Another common trick is for these same companies to not use a true stainless steel spring. That's why many of these “knockoffs” don't last long. Once corrosion sets in, the “knockoff” siphon will no longer work.
